What Is The Lightest And Heaviest Resistance Band In 2022?

What is the lightest and heaviest resistance band

With so many different brands and models on the market, it can be easier said than done when trying to find the lightest and heaviest resistance band out there. If the sheer variety of options has left you with analysis paralysis then look no further.

The tan Theraband is the lightest resistance band providing 2.4lbs (1.8kg) of tension. This is one of the lowest strength bands available. In contrast, the silver Rogue Monster band is the heaviest, providing 200lbs (91kg) of tension. This is one of the highest strength bands available.

I trawled through dozens of different models so you don’t have to!

How I Found The Lightest And Heaviest Bands On The Market

I used my experience and conducted a simple market comparison to identify the lightest and heaviest resistance bands currently available on the market. My comparison study required me to check the product specifications of over a dozen different brands.

I trawled through Amazon and various other blog posts to find the heaviest MF’in bands out there, as well as the lightest.

Here’s what I found:

Top 3 Lightest Resistance BandsWeightTop 3 Heaviest Resistance BandsWeight
Thera bands tan-colored band2.4lbsRogue silver-colored Monster band200lbs
Whatafit blue-colored loop band5lbsWOD Nation blue-colored pull-up band175lbs
Allvodes black-colored band5lbsSunpow purple-colored loop band170lbs

You develop a pretty solid idea for the lightest resistance bands out there once you’ve been using them for years as I have (hint it’s the Thera bands!).

What was slightly more challenging, however, was identifying the heaviest resistance bands available on the market.

Why was it difficult?

Simply because there are so many different resistance band brands competing for that very title!

Nevertheless, I gave it my best shot and the Rogues Monster bands seem to reign supreme!

Weight Of The Lightest Resistance Band

Theraband currently makes the lightest resistance bands available on the market. Their rubber therapy bands come in a range of weights. Their lowest strength band provides 2.4lbs (1.8kg) of resistance which is closely followed by 5lbs (2.2kg) offered by numerous other manufacturers.

Lightest resistance band.

Theraband is known for its light therapy bands for post-injury rehabilitation and for the elderly.

So it comes as no surprise that they take the title of lightest resistance band.

Their Theraband extra-light (link for the cheapest price) weighs a tiny 2.4lbs which is the lowest weight out of all its bands on the current market.

This is closely followed by 5lbs from a host of other companies.

5lbs is usually the lowest resistance that a manufacturer will go to for their resistance bands.

This weight is usually reserved for the lightest bands.

At this weight, bands are ideal for light exercises, muscle toning, and cardio.

Color Of The Lightest Resistance Bands

The lightest resistance bands are tan-colored. These are the extra-light bands made by Theraband. It should be noted, however, that the choice of band color varies between different manufacturers. Not all light bands are tan.

Yup

Different companies use different resistance band colors and weights for their models.

Therefore it’s impossible to definitively classify a single color as “the lightest resistance band”.

With that said, the extra light bands from Theraband ARE the lightest bands out there and they ARE tan.

Based on personal experience, other popular colors for light bands include blue and yellow.

But other light bands may be manufactured in a different color.

So always do your due diligence when checking product descriptions!

Weight Of The Heaviest Resistance Band

Rogue currently makes the heaviest resistance bands available on the market. Their latex Monster bands come in a variety of weights. Their highest strength band provides 200lbs (91kg) of resistance which is closely followed by 175lbs (79kg) offered by WOD Nation.

Heaviest resistance band.

Rogue is known for making high-quality training equipment for heavy lifters.

And their resistance bands don’t fail their reputation.

The Rogue Monster bands (link for the cheapest price) come in a range of weights, with their heaviest band providing a gargantuan 200lbs of resistance.

These are the heaviest resistance bands out there to the best of my knowledge.

They are closely followed by the WOD Nation pull-up bands.

These are the heaviest bands you can get!

At this weight, bands are made for one (actually two!) purposes; to build maximum muscle and strength!

Color Of The Heaviest Resistance Bands

The heaviest resistance bands are silver-colored. These are the extra-heavy bands made by Rogue Fitness. It should be noted, however, that the choice of band color varies between different manufacturers. Therefore not all heavy bands are silver.

As I mentioned previously, different manufacturers use different color-weight coding for their resistance bands.

This means it’s impossible to say what color the heaviest bands should be.

With that said, the extra-heavy bands from Rogue ARE the heaviest out there and they ARE silver.

Speaking from personal experience, other popular colors for heavy bands include black, red, and green.

But other colors may exist for heavy bands.

So always check the product description to make sure how much your band weighs!

Conclusion

I’ve shared the lightest and heaviest resistance band available in the current market.

The lightest bands are made by Theraband with a resistance of 2.4lbs (1.8kg) and are colored tan.

In contrast, the heaviest bands are made by Rogue with a resistance of 200lbs (91kg) and are colored silver.

Remember, resistance band color and weight classifications are not universal.

In other words, not all of the heaviest bands out there is silver. And likewise, not all of the lightest bands out there are tan!

So please check the product description carefully before buying a band.
